Gabrielle Christian was born Colombia district of Washington to Gabe and Joani. She is one of the five daughters of the couple. She attended the Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Her last name is in honor of her younger brother Christian, who died in his infancy. Gabrielle can speak fluent Hungarian and is also very good at conversing in the French language. She is the cousin of legendary actress Tracy Spencer. She is actively involved in the working of SIDS, an organization set up by her mother in remembrance of her lost son. Gabrielle is engaged to her boyfriend Justin and the two plan to get married in May 2009.
Even as a child she showed a great passion for acting and at the age of eight she got to play a role in the television series Young Americans. At the age of nine she started acting in plays. Besides being cast for the lead role in South of Nowhere, Gabrielle has also appeared on shows like Without a Trace, Windfall, Drake and Josh, Numb3rs, and CSI: Miami. She has also done two films called American Gun and South of Pico.
Role In South of Nowhere
In South of Nowhere she has played the lead role of Spencer Carlin, the youngest child and the only daughter of Paula and Arthur Carlin. In the first season she is trying to figure out her sexual preferences and when on meeting Ashley, she finds out that she is homosexual. In the second season she is struggling with family and peers to recognize and respect her individuality. In the beginning of the third season she breaks up with Ashley after Clay’s death and tries to be straight, but reunites with her later in the season.
