Valery M. Ortiz was born in Puerto Rico to Hector and Aracelis Ortiz. She was bought up in Orlando, Florida. Valery was very passionate about dancing and wanted to become a ballerina. She got a scholarship to The Southern Ballet Theatre Performing Art Centre in Orlando. However her curiosity act increase when her brother Hector started making movies and she joined the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Theatre Magnet High School where she studied for four years. She was chosen as one of the top twenty five hottest Latinas in 2006 in MAXIM en Espanol. Although she is very positive in her real life, she likes to play negative roles.

She worked in theatre shows like Latins Anonymous, West Side Story, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Vagina Monologues and The Edinburgh. During her tenure at the University of Central Florida for a Bachelor in Fine Arts, she was offered to act as a host on a live television show on Nickelodeon. After the season ended, she shifted to Los Angeles where she soon started working as a VJ for show named LATV Live a local TV channel. From there, she moved on to do shows like 10 Items or Less, What About Brian, Emily’s Reason Why Not, On The Up and LATV Does Hollywood etc. She has also worked in the films From a Place of Darkness and Date Movie.

Role In South of Nowhere.

In South of Nowhere, she plays the role of Madison. She is always taunting Spencer and Ashley about their relationship and sexuality. She is also not able to sustain her relationship with either Aiden or Glen. However towards the end of the third season, she is trying to get in the good books of her friends and starts afresh in her relationship with Aiden.
