Season 1
The first season of South of Nowhere premiered on The N Network on 4th November 2005. The season had a total of 11 episodes. In the first episode of the season, the entire Carlin family is forced to shift home from Ohio to Los Angeles after Paula accepts a new job in E.R, putting both her family and her marriage under strain. Spencer comes closer to Ashley who has some problems with her father, while Glen and Madison are facing problems in their relationship. Ashley becomes jealous of the budding friendship between Spencer and Kelly. Clay finds friends where he least expected while Glen and Aiden might be in danger thanks to Madison. For a local film festival, Ashley decides to make a documentary about people’s first experience with sex. Clay is given advice by everyone who comes to know that he is still a virgin. Spencer and Ashley bunk school to enjoy sand surf and sun on the beach where Spencer tells Ashley about her feelings towards girls. A friendly competition between Spencer and Ashley to gain Aiden’s affection becomes a little unruly. Paula and Arthur are forced to face the cruel truth of life in LA when two dead bodies arrive in ER. Spencer is upset when Josie, a girl she does not like becomes friends with Ashley. Clay struggles with his identity when he does not get good grades in spite of his best efforts while Glen and Aiden loose almost everything in a game of Poker.
Ashley and Madison have another fight during which Madison gets hold of Ashley’s cell phone. A basketball scout representing a major university tries to persuade Glen to join him by gifting him expensive things. Spencer goes out on a date with Aiden while Clay tries to find his birth mother. Paula and Arthur start going to a marriage counselor to try and solve issues between them. In the final episode of the season which was aired on 3rd February 2006, Ashley and Spencer come closer after the later goes through a rough night. Glen is on cloud nine, after he receives some good news from a college recruiter while Clay uses Sean’s car to go to Arizona for some personal work.
Seasons Top Ranked Episode – What Just Happened
This was the 11th episode of the season and was aired on 3rd February 2006. In this episode, Ashley goes through a rough night when Spencer nurses her bringing the two much more closer. On her return home, Spencer has a heated argument with Paula over her relationship with Ashley. Glen is thrilled about the good news he has just received from a college recruiter, unaware of an event in the near future that is going to change his life forever. Meanwhile Clay is on his way to Arizona on a personal mission, in Sean’s borrowed car.
